The issue with our economy is that minimum wage is set at an amount a single person needs to survive. While still assuming a spouse is at home doing all the home and child care. Thus causing a gap in wages and possibility, and forcing two people to work, one of which with two jobs, so they can barely take care of themselves and a child. What we need is a minimum wage designed around how much it costs to support a spouse and a child on a single job. If the spouse wishes to work so be it, but it should not be a required effort. Some say this is how it currently is setup, well then someone fudged their math by a few 0s..... A mainstay should also no longer be a forced minimum 30-40 hour depending on locale for benefits, But a forced benefits no matter where you work. If it is a small business 50/less employees and under 5million a year income, then the that busines gets a tax credit for the full costs of the companies insurance. 15$/hour minimum wage with taxes figured in usually 11% is 16.65$/hour, allowing the take home of 15$ plus benefits. Make this a law, and any company that puts up a fit loses ALL tax deductions permenantly. Companies and Stores as well as Rentals and such who increase prices due to increase in wage payouts would be charged with Price Gouging, the company liquidated and sold to competitors. Inflation lets call it what it is. Price Gouging. Due to blah event you increased prices, that is price gouging. Last I knew it was a crime. And you could say supply and demand, but umm these days they make 1000 times more stuff than ever gets sold....
