The latest snouts-in-enlarged-troughs efforts by our hard-working MPs may remind some of the practice of Socialist Party members who enter public life. They pledge not to take more out of the system than the wage of the average skilled worker. This is what Dave Nellist did when he entered the House of Commons -- and lo and behold, he was chose by the then-more-Honourable Members as Parliamentarian of the Year. Now the British motto is clearly Greedyguts for Ever.
