The management here at J. Razz in no way wishes to hide anything that someone says or thinks that is or maybe a little negative. In fact if we do see and choose to ignore it, we would be doing ourselves and you, the customer an injustice. If you believe that we did something wrong, we should correct it if we agree ... or explain it if we disagree. That being said, yesterday there was a Review made by an individual who was very unhappy about a her childs school field trip. Who this person is has no bearing on anything. The review for whatever reason failed to show up here on our page and that fact was brought to my attention. Therefore, I am Posting it here in its entirety for you to read. I hope that you will also take the time to read our response. Please understand that these comments from either side are nothing more than opinions to which everyone has a right to express. It was only because I was made aware of the same thinking by several others that caused me to want to explain. CUSTOMERS REVIEW: Was not impressed at all. I paid $9.00 for my daughter to attend her field trip and theres nothing there but corn fields and a play area. She didnt even get a real pumpkin. The pumpkin she received was small enough to fit in my hand, The parents/grandparents that went were charged the same price and didnt even receive a pumpkin of any kind. What a rip off!! The pumpkin farm we went to last year had a hayride, corn maze, play area, and they got to see animals and we got a descent size pumpkin at the end. We were thinking of taking a family trip to a pumpkin farm but we will not be going here as a family. OUR RESPONSE: Everyone here at J. Razz regrets that your experience is not a pleasant one. In all fairness to us please allow me the opportunity to respond to your comments. Yes we do collect $9.00 per student for all field trips. However, we do not charge for the number of teachers and/or chaperones per student in a ratio set by the school system. It is not unusual for parents, grand parents, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles to tag along just for the fun of it. They are welcome here, but are charged the same as all others in the group. Teachers and staff are routinely well aware of this policy at the time of booking reservations. Pumpkins are provided only to the students as part of their admission. They are small because that is typically what the children can manage without assistance and the larger ones cost us more equating to a higher admission price. At no other time is getting a Pumpkin included with anything. You mention the trip to the pumpkin farm last year an perhaps that term has led to some confusion. We are not a pumpkin farm. We are a farm that offers pumpkins to students as an added bonus. Our school field trips are oriented more toward the direction of providing an educational experience outside the classroom that is fun. We do have the corn maze and play area, but that is only a small part of what we offer. Hayride tours are given and the children see what a farm and crops actually look like along with the things and equipment required to keep it in operation. There is a classroom setting in which the students are shown on an age appropriate level what role being a farm in N.C. plays in their everyday life. No, we do not have a petting zoo where animals are touched. The reason is simple, we do not raise any domesticated livestock. We define ourselves as a working family farm and do not propose to put on a show of anything that is not actually done here. On this farm the only animals you can see, but should not touch, are frogs, turtles, raccoons, possums, birds, deer, turkeys, groundhogs, dogs, cats, squirrels and the occasional coyote. We are not a rip off as you say but rather a business that that is different from many others and offers you a choice.
