The meteorological department in Jammu and Kashmir has predicted moderate to heavy rain or snowfall in the State for four days starting Sunday, an official statement mentioned. The weather advisory in this regard was issued Saturday morning that mentioned ‘fresh western disturbance’ over the State as the primary reason for this prediction. The phenomenon is likely to affect many places in the State from Sunday (March 9) to Wednesday (March 12), sources said. However, its main activity is expected on March 10 (Monday) and March 11 (Tuesday). Other than Kashmir and Jammu divisions, snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in Ladakh region. In Ladakh, the snowfall is expected particularly in hilly areas of Zojila, Drass, and Kargil, officials said. According to the officials, the day temperature in the State is expected to fall by 3 to 4 degree Celsius and night temperature is expected to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius. Pertinently, temperature in Srinagar city today is expected to be in the range of 2 to 13 degree Celsius while is Jammu city it is expected to be in the range of 9 to 22 degree Celsius.
