The moment we pretend to be anything other than who/what we truly - TopicsExpress

The moment we pretend to be anything other than who/what we truly are (in order to meet the expectations of others, to live up to some image we feel we are to portray, because we are afraid others may view us as weak, to continue to conceal some hidden sin, because we’re afraid to be what God has called us to be, or any other reason we feel justifies our pretending) then we are not being real and have become a fake and a fraud. If others can’t handle us being real, is that our problem or theirs? I would much rather someone be real with me than to pretend to be something they’re not. I would much rather be real and please God instead of trying to please others. God, it’s hard sometimes. Please help us to be confident in you and be more afraid of being fake than we are of being real.
