Yet by there own admission the risk is 10% of the 1/200 or 1/2000 of a bad outcome. The risks of problems occurring such as fetal distress, abruption and cord accident are so much higher and yet no one demands anesthesia stand by for all laboring women. Everyone knows this is an administrators response to a level C ACOG guideline that was a mistake to publish and not because of safety!
