The most transparent and honest administration ever continues.... The only thing transparent about Cuomo and co. is their complete lack of transparency. 25% of the total tax credits in NY. Thats the amount that ONE industry (Hollywood) gets. We are literally paying them to film here. Cuomo increased the credit to an insane $420 million dollars because all he knows how to do is have the govt pick winners and losers.....for the right price that is.....that price being campaign contributions. I fought it during the budget process last year as we cut $90 million from people with developmental disabilities and schools continue to deal with gap elimination adjustments. Did it have anything to do with big donations from Hollywood? You know, like the fundraiser held for Cuomo in 2011 in California where one of the hosts was disgraced Senator and now head of the Motion Picture Association of America Chris Dodd where he raised half a million? Read on.... In a 137 page unpublished addendum (so much for transparency) to Cuomos tax commission, it is revealed that New York is actually paying them to film here “because the credit exceeds tax liability many times over and is refundable, in effect it is a program of cash payments by the state to credit recipients.” Meanwhile, we have GE leaving Ft. Edward, Kahr Arms & American tactical have left. Lockheed Martin is threatening to leave. Remington is being enticed to leave... and the list goes on and on. Yet Cuomo the clueless provides 25% of the state tax credits to one industry that mainly provides temporary jobs at best during filming. Wake up NY. This guy has no idea what hes doing except to spend your money and take credit for it just like he did in Buffalo yesterday. Sadly, he couldnt be bothered to even talk with the 200 GE workers in Ft. Edward losing their jobs.
