The murder of the three Israeli teens allegedly at the hands of Hamas is a barbaric end as so many around the world held out hope for their safe return home. My sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these young men. This horrific act against three innocent teens further reveals and confirms the terroristic agenda of Hamas, which has no interest in peace, democracy, reconciliation or recognition of Israel. Congress must remain acutely aware of funding provided to the Palestinian Authority (PA), particularly in light of their announced unity government with the terrorist organization, Hamas. Last month, the House Committee on Appropriations favorably reported out the State and Foreign Operations bill for FY 2015 that included a strong provision to suspend aid to the Palestinian Authority should a unity government become operational between the PA and Hamas. I urge the Senate and President Obama to swiftly adopt a similar position. An agreement between these groups will undoubtedly inflict further strain on the peace process in the Middle East.
