The news is reporting that this is the strongest storm to ever hit land. The earth has been here for millions of, (man counted years), and accurate record keeping of weather related events is in it infancy when compared to the age of the earth, my question is, HOW DO THEY KNOW THIS WAS THIS WAS THE STRONGEST STORM TO EVER HIT LAND? Call me a nit-picker but words have meaning, when you use the word ever without clarifying the fact that modern day record keeping is less than five hundred years old, I have a tendency to be skeptical of the reporting. The national weather service was not established until 1869 and was slow to evolve to a point where the intensity of a storm can be reported accurately. The use of the word ever as used in this report is not verifiable and I suspect that it is agenda driven reporting.
