The ninth day of John Thrasher’s presidency at Florida State University was one he hopes he never has to repeat. It began a few minutes after one in the morning when Thrasher received a call telling him a gunman had opened fire on FSU students at Strozier Library. Thrasher, scheduled to meet with two donors before coming back to Tallahassee Thursday, immediately canceled those plans and got on the phone with Delta Airlines.
