The nominees for the Energy Globe World Award 2013 have been announced! Award Ceremony on 4 Februar2014 in Salzburg/Austria - World-class projects for a viable future Traunkirchen - The nominees for the Energy Globe World Award have been announced! They come from 15 countries and have devoted their lives to one goal: to find sustainable solutions to many problems in this world that make a contribution to improving the lives of millions of people . Their projects were selected by the Energy Globe Jury from over 1000 submissions. These are projects that give hope in difficult times like today - where we are facing an uphill struggle over distribution of resources and energy, said Energy Globe founder Wolfgang Neumann on the outstanding solutions , the Energy Globe presents each year to the world public. The awards will be presented on 4 February 2014 in the studio of the Austrian Television in Salzburg. The program will be presented by the well known TV host Arabella Kiesbauer. With 161 nations participating and more than 1000 project submissions annually the Energy Globe Award is today’s most prominent environmental prize worldwide. With great excitement, the nominees are waiting for their “great day . For many of them the invitation to Salzburg is the culmination of many years of efforts for a sustainable future. Who will receive the international ENERGY GLOBE Award in each of the 5 categories Earth , Fire, Water , Air and Youth and is finally crowned world champion is strictly confident until the ceremony. The Vermigold Ecotech Pvt Ltd from India converts organic waste into valuable soil with worms. The U.S. company Ecovative Design LLC uses mushrooms for energy-saving production of 100 % compostable packaging. Category Fire : Globally unique is the algae growing process of production ecoduna AG in Lower Austria in photovoltaic -powered reactors. From the algae valuable oils and biofuels are obtained . In a combined project of Energy Ministry in Indonesia in volcanic areas biogenic gas is optimally used from the earth for cooking and electricity as well as the heat of hot springs for drying of agricultural products. Giant underwater turbines from a 10 MW tidal power plant of the company Iberdrola on the Scottish island of Islay provide 5,000 households with clean energy.
