The only people who really benefit from notebook checks are the people who are very well organized. And the people who are very well organized are typically the ones who dont need an easy boost in a class. As a matter of fact, notebook checks are quite detrimental to kids like me who are organized in a way fit for themselves. I dont set up little binder tabs for the different kinds of papers i get in each subject, and my grades are just fine. Its crazy to think that everything should be organized the way the teacher wants it as opposed to the student, it isnt the teachers notebook. Keller has it right, he always preached to us about finding a language that works for us to make our notes, but certain other teachers seem to be more narrow minded about each students individual style. Sophomore year is really old for certain teachers to breathe down our necks- especially if we are doing just fine the way we are.
