The other day, the kiddo and I were talking about all the kids - TopicsExpress

The other day, the kiddo and I were talking about all the kids weve had in our care over the years. He remembers all of them but didnt realize how many there had been until we counted back to the very beginning; over 30 kids!! More than 30 little ones, from newborns to about age 10, have been welcomed into our homes. WOW! Some kids only came a few times, some for a year or more. A few actually lived with us temporarily for various reasons. Once we had 3 toddlers, a six year old and the kiddo ALL SICK and on different meds for a week! Mar once caught a bat that got in the house one night without waking any of the 4 sleeping kids! Thousands of diapers changed, thousands of bottles given, thousands of healthy meals (because we still stick to our guns and REFUSE to feed kids unnecessary sugar or junk food, prepackaged processed stuff or even juices that arent 100% real juice), thousands of hugs and kisses and kisses on boo-boos, and thousands of joyful laughs. Ive been trusted with the care of more than 30 precious souls. That simply amazes and humbles me. Its not easy, it typically means Im at the mercy of others schedules, finances, and priorities. It means extremely long hours, not knowing when kids and parents are coming or going (youd be amazed at how often parents show up hours late to drop-off or pick-up kids with no call, text, or notice and often no apology). But in the end, I think its been worth it, to have provided a safe and healthy space for more than 30 kids. To every parent thats ever trusted me to keep your little loved one happy, healthy, and safe, I most sincerely thank you. #gratitude
