The other night I was out for a drink with a producer friend and his girlfriend and were were discussing the late 1970s minimalist movement in New York, as I happen to be working on a project from that era, and we discussed Brian Enos Music for Airports, which his girlfriend hadnt heard of. We also talked about the the 24 hour time stretched version of Beethovens 9th (one of my favorites) and how even my mother said that about three hours in I heard the first tympani and gave up.
