The past three weeks have been a blur. I never thought we would find water in our basement again, especially less than two days before our sons H.S. graduation party. We did the best we could to clean up the mess, put on the party as scheduled, and then take time to start getting our lives in order again (as much as we could). We moved stuff out of the basement and into storage, we cleaned up, we measured for and installed new carpeting, and now we need to go through our stuff to find out what well keep, what things well sell, and what well donate to charity. My wife and I, and our kids, dont consider this to be a tragedy at all, simply the latest pothole on the road of life. We have learned to make the best of these times, as much as we can...not getting too excited when times are good, nor getting too upset when times are bad. We live, we learn, we make mistakes, we try again. Perhaps your lifes road is full of potholes. Maybe its not even paved, and its just a rocky, gravel road. Or it could be that your lifes road is a dirt trail through a dense jungle forest. No matter...for God is the ultimate trail guide. He will make smooth your paths, and lead you when you get lost. God will show you the way when there seems to be no way out. And he will be the light for you on those pitch black nights when you cant see anything. God will help you...if you let him. Take a moment to realize that you cant control everything. You cant always be the lantern and the paved road. You cant do it all, nor should you try to. Let God lead your life. Following God doesnt mean that your life will be without its share of troubles. Staying focused on God means that he will show you the way, a way that leads to eternal life and salvation. Start today...give your life to the Lord. Let him guide you through the wilderness and rocky trails of life. Allow him into your heart to be your eternal GPS. He will show you the way home.
