The prequel to the “Lord of the Rings” is the “Silmarillion”. Its not likely to be made into a movie or series of movies in our lifetime. But if it were to be made in the next few years, heres how I would cast some of the major characters. Manwë – King of the Valar – Liam Neeson Varda – Queen of the Valar – Sophia Vergara Fëanor son of Finwë – someone like Antonio Banderas in his 30s, genius-level intellect and fiery tempered, believably able to fight several Balrogs at once Maëdhros son of Fëanor – someone similar to Banderas but somewhat less fiery Fingolfin son of Finwë, High King of the Noldor – Eric Bana Fingon son of Fingolfin – similar to Bana but younger, believably able to take on the Lord of the Balrogs Turgon son of Fingolfin – Ioan Gruffudd Elu Thingol, King of Doriath – Julian McMahon Melian the Maia, Queen of Doriath – Bar Rafaeli Luthian Tinuviël, daughter to Thingol – Kate Upton (especially if she can sing like an angel) Beren son of Barahir – Chris Evans Dior son of Beren and Luthien – just the most beautiful man alive in his 20s Hurin and Huor – Chris and Liam Hemsworth Turin Turambar son of Hurin – Hayden Christensen or someone like him Tuor son of Huor – someone similar to Liam
