The presidents visit The debate is raging on ...plots and subplots have ensued ...shouting match is at its crescendo ...Yes the president graced the land of floods and left goodies for the community. Going through posts and comments on this wall several issues arise ...issues whose debate depends on your political inclination ...are you for CORD or JUBILEE or are you pro Ababu or Wanjala ...yes nobody takes middle ground, no sobriety or objectivity. Issue number one is the presence of immediate former MP Hon. Wanjala at the function and that of our current MP Hon. Ababu ....each camp claims to have lured the president to Budalangi. Hon. Wanjala is a member of AMANI coalition which struck a post election pact with JUBILEE. Therefore, Wanjala had all the right and honour to be present as a member of the AMANI/JUBILEE. If he had no business he would not have been accorded a chance to board the police helicopter. Hon. Namwambas presence is equally justified. He is the elected peoples representative regardless of the fact that he is a senior member of CORD. Second issue is whether SIGIRI bridge is a FAVOUR or A RIGHT. Yes, its a right because we pay taxes. But again is it now that the government of the day has realized that people of budalangi pay taxes? Personally I dont care if its a right or a favour ..my interest is the construction of the bridge period. We can shout loudest ...we can claim that the president has or has not done us a favour...Let the bridge be a reality Third issue is how RAILA and UHURU fair in terms of development in our constituency. In all fairness, RAO was a PM in last government, UHURU is our president. You only benefit from a person in power if you come close to the and try to influence him/her to your advantage. Rarieda constituency under Tuju is an example of positively influencing a person in power to your advantage. Compare that with alego Usonga our neighbors ..Oloo Aringo was close to Moi but failed to influence him to the advantage of the constituents. The two cases should close that debate, leave Uhuru and Rao alone ...let us question our Leaders for success or failure . Lastly, the bridge cannot be completed by december ...the president is a politician too! Our prayer should be that the process takes off a soon as possible
