The range of the meaning of the word ‘teacher’ is very broad. It can refer to your parents who taught you good character and values, or your siblings who give you advice and help you to manage difficult moments in your life even when at times there’s this sibling rivalry. Or it can be your friends and classmates who tutor you in major subjects for upcoming exams, and teach you how to play musical instruments and sing – even though it’s ear shattering. But isnt it when you hear the word ‘teacher’, your teachers in school are the first to enter your thoughts? Maybe you have branded them all in one. The ones who instruct you in reading, the one who trains you in mathematics, the ones who make your hands ache for copying long lessons, the ones who will give different kinds of projects. In other words, the ones who teach you in the field of academics. Let us talk about our teacher in Filipino, Teacher Mabel Bathan, or ‘Begoy,’ for short. We trust her with our struggles and troubles in life that we can’t mention to others, and in exchange we draw proper advice and guidance. E – nthusiastic Even when faced with difficult and disappointing situations, she never fails to amaze us with her enthusiastic demeanor. L – ollapalooza She is highly remarkable for us students. Her fierce but gentle heart reminds us always that there’s someone out there who believes that it’s possible for us to change into a better person and student. Through her guidance, we know that many students will have a better future.
