The realities of coaching are that you can have an awesome plan - TopicsExpress

The realities of coaching are that you can have an awesome plan for a client, then have to change it based on how they actually are when they turn up for the training session. Thats the difference between just taking someone through a training programme and actually having to make what you are doing specific to the person. I guess the take home message from that is if something doesnt feel right on a particular day, rather than pushing through because thats what you think you should do....maybe take your foot off the gas a little. Not every training session needs to leave you dripping in sweat with no ability to move for 10 days. A tip for those who are just starting training in January for example - keep it simple. Just move for movements sake. Dont over complicate it. Dont make it too hard for the first few weeks. Learn what your body can do. Learn how it feels. Learn how it recovers. Make it an experience that is enjoyable. Look at it as an evolving process. Learn a new activity, a new exercise, a new way of moving. Set yourself a plan so that you evolve over the year. Your first target for January should be consistency. Get in the gym, get outside walking, or cycling.....whatever it may be at least 3 times per week. Make the time achievable. 30 minutes. Yes we can all do that! Build up to training hard! This is something to be earnt. This is another goal. For January just work on the consistency. Get comfortable in the environment you want to train in. Create that habit. Work on the mindset. Change one thing on your nutrition, and one thing only. Let that become part of your lifestyle before the next change. Take it one step at a time. Maybe then you will still be in the gym next December.
