The reason why all uniformed personnel will forever miss Mzee Moi aka Mike Zulu (i.e if you served during his tenure) ni kitu moja: He made their work very simple and made them feel in charge everywhere. In his era a police station was a no go zone leave alone saying hi to even an NYS personnel (who didnt have even the power to arrest). A mere constable could snap a minister by his waist and make him kugusa chini na vidole pekee like a common market thief. Politics and police work were a no no, in fact touch his forces and hell finish you politically. Then even a PS couldnt be issued with an arrest warrant, unakujiwa ata kama ni mkutanoni, now two are being issued without action. Now came these police reforms, a lot be like the West with Mr. Kibaki, and things became bad, officers can vote, (allowing political inclinations, which is dangerous), you got to have political friends to be who is who in NPS, and tying of officers hands (human rights unfortunately the same human rights dont apply to officers) That said I believe we have only 2healthy forces in Kenya namely KDF and NYS. LONG LIVE MOI.
