This same Senator invited All of the huge number of concerned,crying,and upset children,staff members,parents,concerned alumni and island residents to the Legislature one evening in June of 2011,just tell us in front of all of her colleagues and the Education Administrators that there was nothing the senators could do to keep Marcelli School open for another school year,for us to prepare for a proper farewell.So,why on Earth should I vote for anyone who stated,along with the entire body of senators present that the decision to close Marcelli was Wrong,however there was nothing they could do to demand that it remain open. Hello?!?!?! Yes,Lockhart has turned out to be a tremendous blessing in disguise to me,but we are now bulging at the seams because every K-6 school between Lockhart and Muller,Has Been Closed down,and left to decay,rather than invest in refurbishing .The Future Leaders of this community are still watching the decisions made concerning them. I havent heard anyone running mention building a new Public elementary school in town,YET !! We are up to 5 regular kindergartens and our Therapeutic Kindergarten is full to capacity.Most parents of this years students will have another child needing placement this time next year. Many of those need to attend a proper Preschool for Kindergarten Readiness training before entering our new Common Core Standard curriculum driven kindergartens.Who has said where theyll get the funds to implement the pre-k level of public schools(which our governor has signed into law for 3 years now without $1.00 put towards its development)? Until I hear some positive definite plans to help us help the islands kids truly succeed ,dont FaceBook or email me to vote for any.At present,as last election,Im voting for None of The Above!!!
