The road transport sector constitutes one of the main sources of air pollution, especially in urban areas. Today there are several tools for the estimation of traffic-related emissions. The most popular approach is to measure the exhaust gas of vehicles on chassis dynamometers or by on-road tests. However, there are other models of emission calculations and traffic modelling software available, such as COPERT, AIMSUN, VECTO, and many more.
