The rush for jobs available in the countrys correctional services - TopicsExpress

The rush for jobs available in the countrys correctional services is indicative of just how failed a system #tinkhundla has been. All these young people and no jobs, no work, no opportunities, no internships, nothing! It is tragic. But then, lamenting the situation is not in itself helpful, the realization is just the starting point. Lets now work to address this problem. Here are some thoughts: 1) Address the fundamental problems of governance, which have made us a skunk of the world thus failing to attract investments (unban political parties and design a stable governance system that recognises human rights and pluralism); 2) Invest more in entrepreneuership; 3) Avail startup capital and grants for youth-led enterprises; 4) Educate the Swazi child for the global as opposed to local market - make quality education free from ECCD to first degree (or towards attainment of livelihood skills set); 5) Stop the lavish spending by royalty; 6) Stop useless white elephant projects like Sikhuphe and the 500-room government hotel and convention centre (these may be done in the future when there is a demand for them, not now); 7) Channel funds towards women empowerment and enterprises; 8) Invest in Agriculture by providing subsidies, skills and irrigation means for the poor; 9) Provide reasonable social security for the unemployed including people living with disabilities; 10) Invest in leadership development at all levels; 11) Invest in research and development not only for Swaziland but for Africa; 12) Demonopolize all sectors of the economy and ensure all Swazis benefit. Thats my twelve-point plan. Any suggestions?
