The scene: a parking lot. Im headed one way down a row, a white SUV is headed toward me. Two cars pull out of spaces, one on either side of the row; one close to me, the other close to the SUV. I go to park in the one closest to me, when the SUV driver leans on the horn and, by pointing and gesturing wildly, conveys the message that she intends to park in the space closest to me, and not the one much closer to her. I indicate the empty space to her, and she gesticulates even more wildly, silently insisting that Im about to take her space. In no mood to argue with a lunatic, I take the other space, pulling in smoothly in one pass. I get out and walk toward the store, watching SUV woman take three passes to get into her space. #societyisdoomed
