The second part of the conversation with the prominent American columnist pertained to the US visa status of Narendra Modi. The question was suppose he became PM, what should the US do? My answer was that, knowing Modi as I do, he has too much pride to ask for a visa or try to cadge an invitation from the USA. He will let the USA stew in its own juices and not make any overt or covert move. He will just not have a meeting in the USA with a US President on his agenda. My answer is that there is nothing the US can do. Mao Zedong never asked for a US visa. So who went calling?
