The silly season gets sillier... I just had a brief conversation with Jim at Rebel Rock Racing. Theyre not going to field the FR-S/BRZ, and he offered it to me for at least the Roar Before the 24. Why is that silly? I need a driver or two (maybe three) to pitch in and drive at the Roar. I also need a crew to help prepare and if something unfortunate happens, fix the car. Its largely already prepped, but well need tools for changing tires, fixing stuff, alignments, etc., plus some place to store the car at the track. Ive asked Chris at Mitchum, but hes tied up with three cars of his own, so thats out. If someone has a trailer with an awning, it might look a bit low-brow considering the hardware a lot of the teams bring, but its real international racing at Daytona. If youre trying to get your FIA license, this counts as an international level race. Pay is negligible, if anything at all. I can tell you that the experience of being on the pit wall at Daytona is worth whatever it costs to be there. Its pretty amazing. The other side of this is Ill need sponsorship to get there, pay for the rental of the car, then entry fees, licensing, fuel, tires, etc. This can come from paying for the seat, to getting your companys logo on the car and a chance to sit at the pit wall while you participate in the spectacle that is the CTSCC.
