The spectacle of the presidents of Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroun - TopicsExpress

The spectacle of the presidents of Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroun and Benin congregating in Paris at an anti-terrorism summit hosted by the France and other Western countries is one that ought to leave every Pan-Africanist feeling disappointed and frustrated. Boko Haram is operating largely in a region bordered by these countries and they have been moving in and out across the porous borders between these countries, but through all the mayhem these so called leaders never saw the necessity to join forces to root out the biggest challenge to their collective security. After over 50 years of INDEPENDENCE from the colonial masters it seems we are still incapable of initiating and sustaining African solutions to African problems without the baby-sitting of our imperialist overlords. We all recall the pre-independence conferences in London and Paris to determine the fate of Africa, who would have thought that after 50 years of self-rule, we will still be going to these conferences for anwers to our internal problems. Kwame Nkurumah must be turning in his grave.
