The story goes that Bill still used to go the training ground every morning after he retired, this went on for a long time before the powers that be asked that he stopped coming the training ground!! The reason apparently was to give the next manager a chance to bond with the players without the influence of Bill around. That new manager was the other great man Bob Paisley. I can understand the reasoning behind it , Bill i think relised that when he retired , he had done the wrong thing as football was in his blood, he was at a loss with what to do with himself. But he still loved Liverpool with all his heart and his memory will live on with the Liverpool fans who knew him and met him and those who have been blessed with the great stories of the great Bill Shankly.......HE WILL NEVER WALK ALONE IN HEAVEN , HE WILL WALK HAND IN HAND WITH ALL THE FELLOW LIVERPUDLIANS WHO HAVE LOVED THIS FANTASTIC CLUB.AMEN
