The tension in my city is incredible. It seems to me a line has been drawn down the middle and we split between crowds of either or. I cannot pretend there is no such thing as racism. It is my opinion that saying there is no racism is the same as saying there is no terrorism. And I use this comparison because I see little difference between the two. They both divide and conquer. They both stem into violent forms of ignorance which stem for misguided versions of misinformation. The problem with public outrage is we give in too easily to the speakers who benefit from the damage we sustain as a community. They stir the madness instead of settle the disputes, and without saying so; they call for blood, but yet, they dissappear when it spills. I am for reform. I am for rebuilding, educating, retraining, and with all my heart, I am for a peaceful resolve; however, there is a saying, No justice, no peace. I can only assume this is true, but eye for an eye, we have all become blind. Someone called me crazy the other day. Yeah, Im crazy. Im crazy because I would rather rebuild my city than watch it fall. I would rather find an answer than watch our society crumble or further give way to the separation between fact and fabrication. I would rather focus on the truth of a mans word than the color of his skin. But that aside, I woukd rather see honest assements than radical, or race driven accusations. I read a farewell from a son to his father, a New York City Police Officer, who was gunned down as a result of our sad state of confusion. The news says nothing about repair. It only reports the destruction. Blessed Father, I worry about those who I consider friends. They are friends who stand in blue uniforms. They wear badges; however, they are seen less as men and more as watchmen. I worry about the other side of the legal system. I worry about the retaliation or the revolution of hatred. Blessed Father, I worry about my city and the damage to its people. In two days we celebrate Christmas. For unto you on this day, a child is born in the City of David: A Savior. And this is good. Its good because I think we all need a little saving right now.
