The total count of people who died from attacks on Diplomatic - TopicsExpress

The total count of people who died from attacks on Diplomatic facilities since 1980 is around 400 and over 4000 injured. It is a dangerous job no matter how you look at it. We could say that we were not ready for any of these attacks since most of them took more than 4 lives. In some of the attacks where no one was killed, they occupants were evacuated to another location or safe house. These 4 from Benghazi were put in a safe room in a CIA building. Unfortunately it was ineffective. However there has been more investigation on Benghazi than all other attacks combined. Does that mean those people were not as important as these 4? It sounds more like people are using this tragedy to their political advantage. Remember the time when Bill Clinton was in office and 2 truck bombs went off at the same time on August 7, 1998 in Africa at 2 US Embassies and around 200 were killed and thousands injured. Then on August 20, 1998 President Clinton ordered Operation Infinite Reach, a series of cruise missile strikes on targets in Sudan and Afghanistan going after Osama bin Laden by name; but his rivals and the news stations said that he was wagging the dog by starting a war to detract from the Monica Lewinsky Grand Jury testimony and we never heard about the attacks on our embassies again. After that we heard very little about what our government was going to do about the attack, it was all MONICA, MONICA, MONICA. Those were simpler times when the president’s penis was more important than 200 dead people.
