The weather forecast of the last few weeks was not as accurate as - TopicsExpress

The weather forecast of the last few weeks was not as accurate as many hoped. This was manifested in many conversations I made: some of them with hikers, some of them with rail travellers. Moreover, I discussed the accuracy of the forecast with famers. In accordance with the exclusion principle, it appeared to be significant that other providers or weather forecasters are more accurate. This might not only be a question of financial means, but also a question of the models and the appropriate endurance to use them in the right way – again and again. Persistently, using most appropriate models combined with reliable input values makes the Meteo Schweiz competitiors or business rivals more successful, even though Meteo Schweiz disposes of vast sums of money. This, finally, leaves a picture comparable with the picture of a blue sky or an open door, a wide open door providing perspectives for the one side (alternative provider), while refusing admittance for the other side (Meteo Schweiz). Thus, we should look forward and hope that this financial duplication will disappear soon in order to relieve our budgets. At the moment, it might be that the particular impression is evoked (bring or recall (a feeling, memory, or image) to the conscious mind) that the main weather forecast provider delivers inaccurate data, which not only disappoint hikers but also farmers, what might be a serious economic problem.
