The wheelchair is viewed as a symbol of weakness by society plain and simple.... this needs to change and the disabled community needs to teach the able-bodied population of the difficulties we face otherwise situations will go ignored: these situations include: not being able to get over $17,500 or I lose my personal assistant benefits not being able to go over 2,500 or I lose my Medicaid benefits and not being able to save for my retirement. U should like this status if u think this is bullshit, but more importantly whoever you happen to be... u need to recognize you can make an impact by learning about disability rights and helping the disabled population.
