The word Mentor never originally an English word, It was actually a name of a person..greek origin, in 1750..A friend of Odysseus called MR MENTOR, when Odysseus was to embark on a journey told his friend; please i put my son Telemachus in your care, train him, tutor him and make him achieve what he would achieve if i were to be around.Mentor took up the challenge to tutor Telemachus and more than what even the Father could do,Mr Mentor was able to do..because of this great achievement, English adopted the name to mean what we call MENTOR today!
