The year 2015 will be here in a matter of hours. 2014 has been one of the most challenging years for law enforcement in the recent past and has definitely been the most challenging that I have seen in my 22+ year career. Law enforcement officer deaths have totaled 118 in 2014 and they are up 11% from last year. Deaths by gunfire are up a whopping 57%! I thank each and every one of my brothers and sisters for staying in the fight! We have a lot of work to do and 2015 will probably be just as bad--if not worse, but we need to band together and watch each others back. A big thank you to those members of the public who have chosen to continue to support law enforcement despite what is being said in the media. Our supporters far outweigh those that choose to run us in the ground. We are not the enemy and we will always be up for any challenge that comes our way. I pray that God puts his armor around everyone one of us as we go out and get the job done! Stay safe out there!
