Theatre Action Group presents… The Dream! Where are we now? An intergenerational performance workshop on race and privilege. In partnership with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, Theatre Action Group invites you to an interactive performance and dialogue as we reflect on our collective journey from the era that brought us Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.s dream to the present day. This “performance workshop” is participatory with the audience engaging in receptive listening, theatre making, sharing stories and reflecting on their personal journey as it relates to Race, Privilege and Justice in a fun and engaging way. As people of faith, we believe there is a need more than ever for the following: • To explore our evolving definitions of racism • To express the complexities of our passions, fears and suspicions • For the “laughter of recognition” and celebration to co-mingle with difficult dialogues • To understand and share our personal journeys in relationship to race and privilege • To acknowledge that one conversation is not a “cure-all;” however, dialogue is the first step that can bridge communities, transform lives, reconcile and heal. Sure to be fun, smart and compelling. Come one and all to TAG’s novel approach to a performance workshop through art and celebratory performance. DATE: Thursday, October 24 LOCATION: St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 4711 Edmondson Ave., Baltimore TIME: 6:30‐8:30 pm. Light refreshments will be provided. CONTACT: Theatre Action Group at theatreactiongroup@gmail or 410‐467‐1399 for information.
