There are dozens of solar cooker designs out there, but I like the low-tech approach (and the subtle African music background) to this simple description of how to save fuel and use what the sun offers freely. When Kim and I were in Zimbabwe in 2006 we saw deforestation through harvesting firewood for cooking. I understand this technology is taking off in parts of Asia - most notably in China and India where hundreds of thousands of families currently use parabolic solar cookers for preparing food and heating water.
