There are incredibly few and rare instances in which human beings are made to be treated in a similar way to exploited animals. When these instances arise, they act as the perfect opportunity to expose the moral hypocrisy of speciesist attitudes. Unfortunately, the cognitive dissonance of those who obtain a benefit from being the dominant party in the oppressive power structure acts as a mechanism for them to feel disenchanted from rationally interpreting the harm and suffering that they are causing either directly or indirectly. It is much easier to disavow that all violence and oppression is related and embrace intersectionality, than to forgo anachronistic beliefs and values in the face of the obvious changes one ought to make to their moral framework.
