There are many myths tossed about on social media as though they - TopicsExpress

There are many myths tossed about on social media as though they are fact. Three of them in particular are extremely insulting and should not be repeated. One is that Africa is named after a Roman general. The fact of the matter is just the opposite. The Roman general Scipio Africanus was so-named because of his association with Africa. Myth two is that the Aboriginal people of Tasmania were entirely destroyed. Fact of the matter is that I have been in the company of Aboriginal Tasmanians on multiple occasions. If you doubt it I suggest that you go to Tasmania and spend time with them. And, thirdly, Pangea is the reason that Black people sojourn in the far corners of the earth. The truth is the great land masses of the world separated tens of millions of years before modern humanity existed. The descendants of Africa began migrating from Africa long before enslavement and arrived in many of the distant places where they live today because of their adventurous spirits and creative genius. Let us endeavor to find facts and leave the myth making to others.
