There are many posts today about the passing of Stuart Scott. And I have found myself teared up at times for someone who was not my family, nor someone I ever met. but yet I shed tears. I think because when we lose someone who is part of our daily lives as he was for sports fans, and we take for granted how trailblazing he actually was, we think we should have appreciated him more. In a time of tight knit delivery (ie White), he was smooth and connected to many who were never included before. I spent many nights listening to the catch phrases we all loved, Boohyah, Cool as the other side of the pillow, He must be a bus driver because he just took him to school, but what I will remember is his fight, that many never saw, because I was there for my son so the images of the needles and the port, and the talk of chemo rang too close to home. But when you saw him, he was on. delivering for us, the viewer. He was doing the job that he loved. I remember this speech and to know he was in the hospital the week prior, makes it even more courageous. Could we do what he did? I am not sure. The quote I heard today, that I will forever take way, was Be who you are. That is something we all should do but it takes courage, it takes persistence, it takes BALLS. Rest in peace Stuart. https://youtube/watch?v=Yl_0ieqSi7Q
