There are no Hobby Lobbys in heaven. I have been writing a lot - TopicsExpress

There are no Hobby Lobbys in heaven. I have been writing a lot about this lately. The foundational issue with the Hobby Lobby case, as I see it, begins with understanding more clearly the very definition of a Christian (religious) business. A company cannot be a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, etc. only a person can be. In all theological discourse, one thing is clear; only a person can/must make the choice to accept or reject the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, be one of G_ds chosen people, follow the teachings of Allah through his prophet Muhammad, etc. The move to redefine who can be a follower of faith (with rights to be protected) to what can be a follower of faith (with the same rights to be protected) is missing the point of following a faith journey entirely. It dilutes a faith story by confusing philanthropic principles with principles of profit. Should we be calling for-profit businesses Christian (Jewish, Muslim, etc,)--something that is usually reserved solely for not-for-profit businesses? Should any business be labelled as being religious? If there are no churches in heaven, there are on Hobby Lobbys in heaven.
