There are only four days left to apply for ConnectiCon’s Cosplay Events! Applications close at midnight on Sunday, June 8th! Check out all of this year’s cosplay events!: Masquerade ConnectiCon received a letter by a certain owl that the Masquerade will be hosted by some of Hogwarts finest staff - And they will be there to fight the greater magical evils of Maleficent and her minion, Draco Malfoy. The Cosplay Masquerade is the largest, most anticipated show in Main Events. It is held on Saturday evening of the convention. Participants compete for first place with performances based on geek pop culture media. The winners are determined by a panel of qualified judges and special guests to Connecticon. There is also a walk-on show for those who compete in the craftsmanship contest during the convention. The winners of the FMV’s are also announced during the Masquerade. Craftsmanship Contest Have you spent hours upon hours making the the perfect and most accurate costume possible? Do you possess an incredible attention to detail and apply that to each and every costume? Then the Craftsmanship Contest is for you; this is a chance for you to show off your amazing costume! Death Match See your favorite pop culture icons get thrown into the arena against each other like gladiators and fight to the death. All of the selected characters line up on stage and are hand picked to enter the battle. Go wild and scream battle cries for your favorite warriors as worlds collide! Will fate take them to Valhalla or to the bowels of Niflheim? Only the fighting arena holds the answers. Dating Game The Dating Game is a comedic event where a bachelor or bachelorette sits on one side of the stage, and asks three hidden contestants a series of questions to win a date! This year, the game will be hosted by Blaine and Kurt of Glee as they celebrate their many years together and prepare for their wedding! The Roast of Tony Stark It’s time for the billionaire-super genius-entrepreneur, Tony Stark, to step into the celebrity hot seat of ConnectiCon’s very first Cosplay Roast! And who better to start with than the man who tells himself how great he is in the mirror every morning? A parade of Tony’s friends, foes and character from other fandoms will come to hang out and insult the man behind the suit of iron. So sit back and enjoy a night of insults as Tony tries to play it cool. Cosplay Karaoke Cosplay Karaoke is a staged event in which cosplayers sing (and occasionally dance) on stage as a solo, duet, or unified chorus! All of the songs are directly or loosely related to the cosplay which they are wearing. Singled Out ConnectiCon’s Singled Out is the answer for a real convention dating game, with each round ending in a real couple set up with a real date! ConnectiCon will be sponsoring this date at a participating restaurant! All applicants MUST BE 21 years old in order to participate and must be able to provide a photo ID upon check-in. ConnectiCon Squares ConnectiCon Squares is a game show in which two contestants play tic-tac-toe to win prizes. The “board” for the game is a 3 × 3 vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a recognized character from the media or a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The stars are asked questions by the host, and the contestants judge the veracity of their answers in order to win the game!
