There are people in Eastern Jackson County without a home and will have to endure the frigid temperatures this weekend. One church in Blue Springs is currently camping outside in makeshift shelters to raise awareness for the homeless, as well as collecting winter apparel, personal hygiene products and monetary donations for those in need. The 9th annual Freezin for a Reason is this weekend at First Christian Church of Blue Springs. The event lasts until Sunday at noon. If you want to donate items, stop by the church anytime this weekend. The church is located at 701 N.W. 15th Street in Blue Springs. And for those who cant make it, a collection bin will also be set up on the churchs parking lot that will be available for the rest of the winter.
