There are those rare occasions where your children go beyond their age and surprise you. Today i was so proud of my Emily, i cried. Let me tell you a story... A month ago Emily went to my parents house to go to summer camp at the golf club... one of the art projects they had there was building a boat....this boat was to be set loose in the lake at the golf course the last night of camp....each child was instructed to put on the sail a single wish...and their name on the bottom... almost all of the childrens boats once released were found within a week....Emilys however had not been found ....until this week. ....a woman that lives a half mile away from my mother in the same development called her to tell her that she had found Emilys boat and was overwhelmed by her wish that she had written on her sail. Emilys wish was for children who had no home to find a place to call home and for them to get some money. ( as the parent i couldnt be more proud of such a selfless thought )... The neighbor so overwelmed by this wish had called to tell my Mom that they would be making a very large donation in Emilys name to a childrens homeless charity in the area. My daughter was informed of this today when my mom came to visit and her only words when she looked up at me was to say mommy, my wish really came true.... :)
