There has been a lot of discussion on FB about the demolition of the old County Office Building. A lot of pros and cons...for me , its not so much about the building, but its the arrogant way that the university throws its weight around. They act like we, the residents of Waynesburg, are a bunch of dumbasses that cant think for ourselves. That we should be happy with what weve got because thats the best we can get. They have good reason to be so arrogant...our town leaders have always bowed down to their wishes, accepted every bone they have thrown our way. Why should the university have a Master Plan for OUR town? Why do we continually allow them to have so much say in what goes on around here? For lack of a better analogy, Who made them the boss????? They do nothing to foster good community relations, they degrade us at every turn. To them we are nothing more than a bunch of hillbillies that need their so called guidance. I have said this many times, when they have bought up all the taxable properties in this town, and have shrunk our tax base to the bone, what will we have then? It is time for us to take back our town! A few cop cars and a donation to the fire company are not worth what we stand to lose if we allow this to continue. I am urging anyone who gives a damn about this town to attend the next borough council meeting with me and demand they stand up to the powers that be up on that hill and take back our town. Council meeting are the second Monday of the month I believe. I will find out for sure when the next meeting is and post it on here. Its time to get off our collective computers and take action, no one else will do it for us!
