There is Nothing Impossible to Him Who Will Try Alexander the Great Make no mistake, life is difficult for everyone. Everyone can work hard, everyone can take steps, until there is a point where it seems too far away, too much like a dream, beyond our own skills, capabilities and resources - impossible to achieve, so why try? But, by not trying, we make sure that the impossible will always stay impossible. We may think, every great achievement that happens to others was always in their realm of possibilities, but for the things we take for granted, others may feel the same way about us. i.e. Everyone looking up, looks back at themselves and feels the weight of impossibility. *** When Alexander the Great says try, it is more than an attempt or a willingness or a choice, it is an action based on a passionate vision and a relentless pursuit to that vision. To try is to use every means at your disposal, to become more prepared, to think more, to fight until your try is a mountain of countless attempts and failures and mistakes, but it leads to the breaking down the mountain of impossible into rocks of what is possible. *** I live by this Alexander the Great quote, and its a brutally hard quote to live by. No BS, somethings that I had pushed through with i.e. try, I regretted many many many nights that I wished I could turn back time to simply take the easier path. I thought that I would break, I couldnt make it work, that no one could make it work. But that is the beauty of it, impossible is supposed to be impossible. We arent supposed to be the one that makes it, the exception; we are supposed to be just another statistic beat down by whatever we were born with. To say that nothing is impossible also says, that nothing can stand in our way. *** The Philippines is an impossible place, filled with impossible barriers and impossible hardships. There is no business environment that I have ever been which has tested me, tormented me, and brought me to my knees on a daily basis more than here. It is a land of very talented and optimistic people, but is a land of chaos and jumble of modernity and savagery. I do not have a solution for this, or pretend that I have even answers that I know better - after all, what works in Korea or Switzerland or Macau may have some parallels but thats about it. Everyday, things here seem so impossible and yet this country still works, is still moving, and still progressing, in spite of even forces that actively work against everything positive. To me, anyone who is successful here in any capacity, as done the impossible already... *** My own Try is paved with mistakes, failures, defeats, and humiliations, but never hopelessness. As long as my Try is relentless that wherever I end up is better than where I started. While we may have many moments of regrets, we live with no regrets, and, we try, not just for ourselves to be great, but to do greatness, even if it is for a moment or over a lifetime.
