There is a programme on BBC Wales tonight investigating the use of NLP in treating veterans suffering from PTSD. Used correctly NLP can be a powerfull tool in helping veterans but I agree it has to be regulated. Although trained in NLP myself I made the decision not to use NLP as a therapy intervention in the work we do with VIA and instead concentrate on using the outdoors and challenging events and to use NLP as a communications model to better understand the language the veterans use and the language I use myself when working with them. I still believe that used the right way, NLP can be a real help to veterans suffering but believe that too many barriers are put in place by the powers that be. VIA will always advise those we work with to continue any therapy they may be involved with or to send them in a direction that is best for them and the recognised routes.
