There is this interesting side effect of retirement.......its hard to keep track of days of the week when theres no weekend to guide one. Which must explain why I waited for my friend this morning in the library parking lot for our Saturday excursion. She finds it terribly amusing that I was 24 hours early. However, that led me to Starbucks to kill some time and grab a muffin. Which is where I encountered this very friendly lady who joined me for an hour or so of unexpected conversation. about halfway into it, she mentioned one of her sons by name. Turns out that she is the mother of two of my students from 40 years ago. We had never met as they were living with their dad. Turned out to be a nice morning in spite of it being Friday rather than Saturday!
