There was a nice little creative push last night with myself and Lady Hollett Costuming...wait..let me rephrase that... Lady Hollett costuming and I had a nice creative session last night between her patterning out some new armor and me, working on weaving plastic chainmail into what should be a long sleeved tunic to go along with the Dr. Doom armor. Chaimail weaving is not as bad as I thought it might be. Its somewhat mindless, yet satisfying. I picked up some rings from The Ring Lord, plastic 5/16 solids and they are VERY nice to work with. The price was great and that was always one of the stop points for me in bothering with chainmail, the cost. It never suited the budget and I like to keep things cheap. Plastic rings solves this small budgetary concern and it performs double duty in both my fabrication of costume armor as well as being viable for LARP purposes. It may take a while to do, but it will be a welcome addition to my armor builds from here on in. Do I recommend it? Yes, BUT only on the proviso that you have the patience to sit for hours on end to do so.
