There was also a serious bit about how effective YouTube is at removing hate speech, and whether more can be done to tackle the whack-a-mole problem of people re-uploading the same hate video after it is removed. Dr Oboler told The Project that the policies of companies like YouTube may be fairly good, but they fall down on the implementation. Content which should be removed under the policies, too often simply isnt. He also told them about digital fingerprints and how YouTube can auytomatically prevent the same hate video being uploaded multiple times, a recommendation OHPI made to them in 2012. So far we dont believe this has been implemented.
