Theres many things to be said about our contemporary way of life. - TopicsExpress

Theres many things to be said about our contemporary way of life. (Hyper)capitalism, voyeurism, religion and religious institutions, structures that reward individualism, competition, animosity and inequality, rugged patent systems, (economic) power usage, naive and societal exclusive sciences, liberal and right-wing politics; to me examples of systems and ideas that represent no goal or freedom worth fighting for whatsoever. No goal that would provide means in a mission to increase (mental) development, knowledge, love, creative diversity and biological/natural conservation. Moreover, they represent situations that are worth fighting against: oppression, suppression, brainwashing, (gender) inequality, racism, manipulation, narcissism, wastefulness, destruction of nature, egoism, torture, (power) abuse, violence, emboldening of enemies, misinterpretation, populism, societal rejection, etc. etc. Religions referring to documents written hundreds or even thousands of years ago... its so sad that its almost funny. Almost, because apparently people still get raped, killed, tortured, suppressed, exiled and judged over it. I understand the idea of certain (extremely religious) people; that the western way of life is sinful, dishonourable. I understand it because I feel the same. Yet Im not a christian, Im not a muslim. I may believe, but Im not religious. I too reject many forms of systems and cultures we are popularizing in media, schools, at work and in politics. I too reject the lack of strife for cohesion, compassion, empathy and reciprocal service. I too reject the idea that money is there to make one rich, rather than to enrich us all - a.k.a. service. I too reject (social) sciences that exclude selfreflection, psychological and social subjectivity, contemporary paradigms and possible (political) interpretations and consequences. I too reject the idea of anonymous and (thus) irresponsible consumerism. I too reject ideas of misleading (body) images and superficial external culture. I too make mistakes. But I know with 100% certainty there is no god that would tell us the way things are invoke a license to kill or avenge. There is no god that consciously executes justice through any individual or collective whatsoever. And there most certainly is no god that would tell us that a set of rules is set forever. I think god would tell us we are responsible for our own lessons, interpretations and actions. God would tell us to doubt god, and to learn to think independently of god - a.k.a. a true teacher. God would challenge us to question everything, including the question. God would tell us to love, respect, adapt, inspire and alternate, to our best means and possibilities. God would tell us to come closer, by understanding, accepting and integrating differences, rather than emphasizing their potential threat on our holy beliefs and systems. God would tell us to face our inner fears and share them, without harming others. God would tell us to connect, to immerge, to trust, to listen, to feel, to go beyond, to emerge with strength of wisdom and to progress. God would tell us to listen to our intuition, to help people up when they fall, and tell us to smile after drying the tears of our falls. God would tell us to hug the things given, and to heal the things hurting. God would tell us all that, if it would actually be able to talk, if it would actually be an entity, if it would actually be able to guide us and if it would exist at all. We dont need images of god that represent a path that was written hundreds or thousands of years ago... its a powerful misleading prison that will project our desires, yet it is misinterpreted, outdated and founded on all the bones of those that fought for real freedom.
